Childcare Center Director

Full- Time Childcare Director



Angels of Mines Childcare Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Childcare Director to lead our team in providing high-quality care and education for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school-age children. We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for early childhood education and a strong background in childcare management.


Responsibilities:


Oversee the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements.

Develop and implement age-appropriate programs and activities that support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children from birth through school age.

Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.

Train, supervise, and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in early childhood education.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, providing excellent communication and support regarding their child’s development and well-being.

Implement and enforce health, safety, and nutrition standards in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Administer medication as required and maintain records in compliance with state regulations.

Organize and participate in special events, parent conferences, and staff meetings.


Qualifications:


Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

90 clock hours of approved training in infant and toddler, preschool, and school-age development.

Certification in Medication Administration.

Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to childcare.

Current CPR/First Aid certification.

Training in SIDS, Breastfeeding Support, Health, Safety, and Nutrition.

9-hour Communication Training.

Childcare Director Training is highly preferred.

Infant teacher

Join Our Team

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Infant Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child. A Lead Infant Teacher will provide a nurturing and safe environment for infants to develop and reach age-appropriate milestones. You will demonstrate good judgment in the care and play with each infant assigned to you. You will verbally engage the infants throughout the day in addition to incorporating play activities. You will maintain the feeding schedule with the bottles and solids provided by the parents. 



Responsibilities for Infant Teacher

  • Manages classroom ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures while maintaining attractive, clean classroom/hallway displays and providing regularly updated educational and informative parent board.
  • Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents, and visitors.
  • Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Angel of Mines Childcare official curriculum, and philosophy.
  • Assists and supervises children during all activities, counsels and redirects children as needed and provides clear and consistent expectations. 
  • Maintains an engaging, inclusive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
  • Accurately completes all classroom paperwork, accident reports, and attendance records.
  • Communicates effectively with parents, assistant teacher, administration, and other staff members, and promptly addresses concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis, provides positive feedback, and regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings.
  • Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom and school and works with the assistant teacher and/or school director to resolve.
  • Give bottles to infants as provided by parents.
  • Feed infants' solid foods as age-appropriate and provided by parents.
  • Change diapers as needed.
  • Soothe infants by singing to and cuddling them.
  • Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age-appropriate toys.
  • Put infants in cribs for nap time.
  • Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean.


Qualifications for Infant Teacher

  • Required Education: High school or equivalent.
  • Required Experience: 1 year in infant/toddler classroom.
  • Required language: English or Bilingual 
  • Childcare Certifications: 90-hour Child Development, 45-hour Infant & Toddler and/or 45-hour school age, ADA, Basic Health and safety, Breast Feeding, CPR/First Aide 
  • At least 9 clock hours of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • A caring individual who enjoys teaching young children.
  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Extended periods of time sitting on the floor
  • Ability to work a shift in between 6:30 am - 6:00 pm that changes weekly.
  • Have reliable transportation to the Childcare center.

We are currently hiring assistants for all our classrooms. Infant, Toddler, Preschool and School age. Your role will be to assist the lead teacher in the daily management and activities of the classroom per the direction of the lead teacher and the center director.


Responsibilities of Teacher Assistants

  • Assist the lead teacher with the implementation of instruction, lesson plans, scheduled activities, and any assessment of the children or other aspects of the classroom.
  • Provide a positive environment where students are encouraged to actively engage in the learning activities and environment.
  • Provide support and assistance for curricular and extra-curricular activities that support positive and inclusive experiences for the children. 
  •  Complete instructional-related duties as assigned by supervising teacher and administrators.
  • Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents, and visitors.
  • Responsible for assisting with meals, toileting, diapering, disinfecting toys: sweeping floors, wiping tables, chairs, shelves and cubbies and cleaning common areas as needed.
  • Supervising children throughout the classroom environment and encouraging positive behaviors.
  • Identify potential classroom hazards.

PRE-K teacher job

Pre-K Expansion Teacher Leads are primarily responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate curricula for their classrooms that are consistent with the philosophy of Angels of Mines Child Care Center and meets the requirements of MSDE Pre-K expansion program. Pre-K Lead Teachers are responsible for overseeing classroom assistants, substitutes, and volunteers. This position reports to the Center Director.



Qualification for Pre-K Teacher Lead

  • A Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Professional certification for the appropriate teaching level (Maryland P-3 teacher certification)
  • Maryland EXCELS Level 3 certification (or eligible)
  • Minimum three years of experience teaching Pre-K students
  • An MSDE-approved criminal background check


Responsibilities of Pre-K Teacher


  • Develop and implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Maintain a learning environment that fosters all domains of development e.g., social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and literature.
  • Offer inclusive care and education that meets the needs of students of all backgrounds, learning styles, needs, and abilities.
  • Engage in the ongoing assessment of children and use that information for planning and individualized instruction.
  • Design an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.
